Pashmina > SDC

Parsa SDC has been established for trade and business opportunities for commodities Pashmina and Silver jewelry in Mid Development Region of Nepal. Pashmina is targeted in Kathmandu and Silver Jewelry in Lalitpur District.
Birgunj is a major business centre of Nepal, especially for trade with India. Almost all trade with India occurs through this route. The bordering town Raxaul (India) has become one of the busiest towns for heavy transportation due to high trade volume. The 29 km distance from Birgunj to Pathlaiya is the busiest highway in Nepal. As an entry point to Nepal from Patna and Kolkata, it is also known as the gateway to Nepal. This town has significant economic importance for Nepal as a large part of goods enter Nepal through Birgunj via Raxaul on the Indian side. Tribhuvan Highway links it to Kathmandu. So the selection of Birgunj is the very appropriate for the internationalized Nepali products.
A well equipped Service Development Centre has been established in Birgunj, Parsa  under the premise of the CNI and carried out SDCC meeting ,information sharing, networking exchange of good practices and trade business opportunities in the district.
SDCs will mobilise, facilitate and provide support to strengthen their capacities to producers, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and other trade and business associations in the regions to enhance their export capacities. The final beneficiaries are therefore trade and business associations.
